Hi..We have a growing population of I believe mute swans on the shores of Georgian Bay Ontario at Collingwood. There is about a dozen of then huddled together on the ice beside a small island next to the Light House Island. They have been there for about two weeks now, and Georgian Bay is frozen over and may not open up till March sometime. I was wondering if they can survive that long, if they have to eat, and what would they eat? They don't seem to move much, but can see a head stick up sometimes. I know there is some open water in Collingwood Harbour and the swans there are being fed by locals. These swans are not close enough to feed. I was wondering about there chances of surviving the winter as we enjoy them so much during the summer. Thanks John
