We had a group of 8 trumpeter swans on our lake 2/28/14. 3/1/14 2 were still here one was sick sitting on the ice the other kept trying to get the sick one up. A big winter storm was coming and finally the well swan left. The sick one made it through the night and is now swimming in the open areas of the lake. It flies short distances then lands. It seems to be getting stronger but below zero temp tonight is predicted.
If it lives will it be able to reunite with its mate?
