Hi Henry:

That is certainly a very young cygnet. This might be the reason that it was acting out because it wasn't old enough to leave, but the parents wanted it to leave so they could start nesting. In any case, we're glad that the situation has worked out. More than likely, this is a young female and she will eventually find a mate as she ages and may even leave the area for another habitat.
