Lone Trumpeter Swan in inland pond

I live in Niagara County in New York state. My neighbor has a large pond (small lake) on his property. For the past 3 days I have observed a lone trumpeter swan on the pond. What, if anything, should I do to help this swan? Who in my area may I contact for help?
