There are no guarantees that the swan will return. However, usually birds and wildlife will return to an area that has sufficient food sources, nesting area, shelter from severe weather, free from predators and familiar individuals that they have bonded. If the swan liked the area and his/her pal, more than likely it or another swan will return to the area. The reason the swan left was because birds are taught to migrate during the winter. Since the swan could fly, it joined other swans leaving for the winter. We think the swan will return and it may even bring other swans with it. The Regal Swan
