Hello. Our female mute swan has been alone since her mate was killed about 3 years ago. We just acquired another male swan last Sunday. The female won't accept the male and runs him out of the pond continually. The male is sticking around but wondering your thoughts on how to get them to get along? I penned the male in a compound over night and the female continually was trying to get through the pen to get at him. She did grab the males tail feathers and sit on him putting him under water several times.
