Fighting male swan keeps mother away from the cygnets (Margaret)
Show message »
Hello,
I have a pair of mute swan for 8 years. They have mated 6 times and produced many cygnets. This year we have 8. However, for some reason this year, the male swan is beating the female. He will not let her near the cygnets nor the pond. I thought they mate for life and this concerns me. She has not been in the pond for 3 days. I don't know what to do. Please advise. Thank you.
