We have a swan that arrived on our lake a little over a week ago. We have seen it hanging around with some of the geese there.
Our lake is a approx 7 acres, shallow, very calm water and full of Lilly pads and other aquatic plants. I have read that swans prefer a lake like this.
We are in NE pa.
I know that the geese are nesting right now, and we will have baby geese around mother's day. Is there a chance there is a female sitting on a nest some where?
My kids kayak on the lake and the geese want nothing to do with them, however the swan is not bother by them.
It has a black bill from what I can tell, so that makes it a trumpeter swan?
So being in NEPA are we with in the range of swans? Will it find a mate? Will another show up? Just very curious about this and curious to see if it stays for the summer.
Thanks
