In Response To: Male Mute Swan appears to have a sore leg (Anna)

Our male mute swan appears to have a sore right leg. He is able to move the leg into the water and also up on his side to rest it. He is eating and doing great otherwise. He does try to put some pressure on it when he comes out of the water to eat and is able to put slight pressure on it. There is no outer marks or injury to the leg. Could he just have possibly sprained it and it just needs time to rest? He and his mate just hatched out 4 cygnets May 23rd and he is still acting protective of them. he just isn't coming out of the water very much right now. Thank you for any information.
