Hi Kim,

This is such a sad story. Is there a vet school/university near you or a trauma vet? Perhaps this type of place could take a look at her in addition to your vet helping out.

There is an avian specialist in New Jersey where I live his name is Dr. Doolen. If your vet calls him perhaps Dr. Doolen would give the professional courtesy of speaking with him in regard to dosage of antibiotics. Dr. Doolen is at North Star Vets phone number 609-259-8300. He works Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
