Hi Alycia
They are probably wild swans which someone was feeding during your harsh winter. If they are the only swans in your area and they continue to feed with your geese, they will more than likely stay.
However, understand that your NJ DNR wants to kill the Mute Swans just like many other states. They falsely state the Mute Swans are aggressive, non native and invasive, all blatant misrepresentations so the general public will buy into their killing program. The wildlife entities ulterior motive is to kill all the Mute Swans, free up habitats and introduce the larger Trumpeter Swans for Trophy Waterfowl hunting purposes. You can stop this by contacting your state senators and Assemblypersons. You can also folliw our fight in NY and other states by following us on The Regal Swan Foundation's Facebook page.
